A friendly face to visit you at home

What can a Hospice at Home volunteer do for me?

Hospice at Home volunteers bring the help, support and understanding you find at Keech Hospice Care to you, in the comfort of your own home.

Our volunteers will get to know you and help you in any way they can, whether it’s a trip to the shops, a walk with the dog or reading a good book to you. Sometimes you might just want someone to talk to – and our volunteers will listen.

By donating their time, Hospice at Home volunteers are able to give your carer a break and they can be safe in the knowledge that you are with someone they can trust.

Who are the volunteers?

Our volunteers are approachable, friendly people who come from all walks of life. You are matched to a volunteer and will get to know them as the same person visits you every time. Volunteers are handpicked and specially trained to help support you at home.

How often will a volunteer visit me?

Visits usually last for up to two hours, but there is no limit on the length of a visit.

How much will it cost?

You won’t be charged a penny. Our volunteers all give their time for free.
