Angela was appointed in early spring following a competitive application and interview process and will join a diverse board of charity retail leaders from across the UK. The voluntary role will see her help shape the future of the charity retail sector, representing organisations of all sizes and supporting the CRA’s work on behalf of its members.
For Angela, the appointment is both an exciting opportunity and a natural extension of the work she already leads at Keech.
“Charity retail is my passion,” she said.
“At Keech, I get to work hands-on in the sector every day, and this role gives me the opportunity to support charity retail on a wider scale. I can bring practical experience from my day job while also learning from others across the sector.
“I’m very pleased and humbled to have been appointed. It’s a little daunting when you’re in a room with people from some of the country’s largest charities, but it’s also hugely exciting. I’m looking forward to meeting the team, supporting the organisation’s work and helping charity retailers make the most of their businesses.”
Keech is a member of the CRA, and Angela already plays an active role within the organisation as Chair of its South East England Hospice Steering Group. After spotting the opportunity in the CRA newsletter, she applied with the support of Keech Chief Executive Liz Searle.
Liz said: “We’re incredibly proud of Angela on her appointment to the CRA’s board. Her knowledge, passion and commitment to charity retail make her a fantastic ambassador not only for Keech, but for the wider sector.
“This appointment is recognition of the expertise she brings to her role and reflects the positive contribution she continues to make both within Keech and beyond. We know she will bring valuable insight to the board and help champion the important role charity retail plays in supporting important causes.”
The CRA supports and represents charity retailers across the UK, helping organisations maximise the impact of their retail operations. As a board member, Angela will contribute to the organisation’s strategic direction as it continues its next phase of development and growth.
Congratulations, Angela, on this well-deserved appointment. We look forward to seeing the positive impact you’ll make in this important new role.
