This achievement is a natural extension of Keech Hospice’s mission:

“To lead the way in providing excellent care, supporting children and adults with life-limiting conditions and those affected by death and dying, helping them to live well and make every day count.”

At Keech, inclusion is not an initiative—it’s a core value. The hospice’s approach is non-judgemental and non-discriminatory, ensuring equal access for all, whether in care or employment. Becoming a Disability Confident Leader reinforces Keech’s commitment to valuing difference, attracting and developing the best talent, and creating a workplace where everyone can thrive.

“This recognition is more than a badge—it’s a reflection of who we are,” said Julie Wilmot, HR Lead and Business Partner at Keech Hospice.

“We believe that a truly inclusive workplace is essential to delivering the compassionate, person-centred care we’re known for. We’re proud to lead by example and support others on their journey to becoming more disability confident.”

As part of its 2022–2026 strategy, Keech is working to transform systems, environments, and conversations around living well, death, and dying. This includes pioneering new models of care, driving innovation, and becoming a university teaching hospice. The Disability Confident Leader status strengthens this vision by ensuring that diversity, equity, and inclusion are embedded in every aspect of the organisation.
