“I’ve seen and experienced a lot of change at Keech over the years. Group sizes have become smaller, but services have grown, and the needs of the children we support have become more complex.
But one thing has always stayed the same. Keech continues to evolve to meet the needs of the community, providing people with what they need, when and how they need it. It’s a privilege to be part of that.”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Rosie adapted alongside the team.
“Groups moved onto Zoom, and I started running music sessions to bring a little bit of joy during those strange and difficult days.”
Her love of music is still at the heart of her volunteering today.
“My music sessions have continued, and I now mostly go out to visit families at home with Jennie, our Lead Play Specialist, helping to bring joy and connection in a familiar environment. Being part of Keech gives me a real sense of purpose.”
Jennie, sees the difference Rosie makes every day:
“Rosie brings something special to our team. Her warmth, her creativity and her instinct with children mean she connects instantly with families. Whether it’s through music, play, or simply being present, she helps create moments of joy that really matter.”
For families, those moments stay long after the session ends.
“Rosie just gets it,” says one parent. “When she walks into the room, everything feels a bit lighter. She brings laughter, calm, and a sense of normality, those sessions mean more than we can say.”
