Some of the different ways our volunteers offer care
Complementary therapists
Provide complementary therapies to children and their families at the hospice in Luton.
- Assess patients for and provide hands on complementary therapy treatments.
- Advise, support and involve family and carers in providing simple therapy techniques, and/or hints and tips to take home.
- Requirement: You must have a nationally recognised qualification in a minimum of two complementary therapies (reflexology, massage, reiki, aromatherapy or infant massage).
Compassionate Neighbours
Compassionate Neighbours are a network of people who offer their time, companionship, and support to people living in their local area. Compassionate Neighbours help others by:
- Offering companionship, emotional and practical support and a listening ear
- Helping your community member to stay connected to their friends and the community
- Directing your community member to important support services
Lifeguard volunteer
Supervise at our hydrotherapy pool and support our patients.
You must be a qualified lifeguard (full training can be provided) and a strong and confident swimmer.
