The majority of these courses are aimed specifically at registered workers within health or social care and are clearly identified.

Virtual sessions Virtual session

Some of our courses are virtual, so it’s important that you use an appropriate device with a working camera and microphone (tablet, laptop or PC, not a mobile phone) to ensure you get as much from the session as possible. Consider using a space with good lighting and ensure your camera is switched on.

Carer’s Induction in Palliative and End-of-Life Care

Key learning points :-

You will be able to understand some of the Terminology used in PEoLC and differentiate between Palliative and End of Life Care

You will be able to describe the Advance Care Planning Process

You will understand what the ‘normal’ dying process looks like and have an explanation for most of the common symptoms

You’ll identify common fears and apprehensions throughout the session and begin to address them

You’ll know what support is available to you and how to access it

You’ll know how to access further training

Palliative and EndofLife Care Champions Course

This course aims to equip care staff with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become champions, promoting best practice for end-of-life patients. 

Note: If you have previously attended the Keech Hospice Care Principles programme then you only need to book on to Day 2 of the course.

Principles of End of Life Care Rolling Programme

This is a free 5 session rolling programme.

An overview of the key areas associated with palliative and End of Life Care (EOLC). Principles of how to look after yourself as someone looking after a dying patient. Opportunity for Q&A and discussion are included within each session.

This is a fortnightly rolling programme, giving you the flexibility to choose dates and times that suit you. You can book onto individual sessions or sign up for a whole programme.

Unregistered health care professional (such as health care assistants, carer, support worker etc) wishing to gain more confidence in the care of adult patients with a palliative and end of life diagnosis.
