Live music, tasty street food and first-class family entertainment are up for grabs at Keech’s unmissable Big Weekender!

KeechFest is back by popular demand on Sunday, 10 June with a day of back to back live music acts and family fun. The garden at Keech Hospice Care in Great Bramingham Lane, Luton, will be rocking as the charity hosts its annual summer festival.

And that’s not all. To top things off, the charity has introduced PromFest for this year’s summer season. A brand-new afternoon of relaxing classical and jazz music coupled with prosecco and strawberries, PromFest offers the chance to enjoy a picnic on the lawns of the hospice’s beautiful Alan Titchmarsh garden on Saturday, 9 June.

Liz Searle, CEO at Keech Hospice Care, said the hospice, which cares for children and adults, can’t wait to throw open its doors once again.

“Who says you can’t party at a hospice? Come along, listen to some great live music and realise why Keech Hospice Care is a hospice full of life!

Helping classical music fans relax and unwind at PromFest will be eight-part harmony group Peculi8, singing everything from Mozart to Billy Joel, as well as Dunstable Rock Choir and talented young opera singer, Ruby Thorne.

Then getting the party in full swing on the KeechFest Main Stage will be the British Rat Pack covering all the big legends of swing from Frank Sinatra to Michael Buble. Leading man George Anthony will also be wowing crowds with his internationally acclaimed George Benson tribute act, and local rock ‘n’ roll band The Wilsons will be joining the fun again, playing music from the 1960s right through to today’s best hits.

There will also be plenty of family entertainment – including an entertainment zone for children, as well as a retail village and bar for adults.

“By coming to PromFest or KeechFest you’ll not only have a great weekend but will be raising vital funds to support seriously ill adults in Luton and Bedfordshire and children across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes. As a charity, we rely on the community to help raise 70 per cent of the funding we need for our care, so there has never been a time when your support has been needed more,” said Liz.

Due to the popularity of the event, tickets are selling fast and are limited. Entry is by admission only. PromFest runs from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, 9 June and KeechFest runs from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, 10 June.

Adult tickets for each event are £5, children aged six-16/concessions are £2.50, and infants under five years are £0.50. Or pick up a weekend pass for both days for £8 an adult, £4 for a child or concession and £1 for an infant.

On the day shuttle buses will run from Barnfield Technology College in Enterprise Way, Luton, LU3 4BU, every 15 minutes and travel to the hospice. You can park for free at the college and travel to Keech Hospice Care by bus. Limited disabled parking is available at the hospice and must be pre-booked by calling 01582 707940.
