Can you help Keech Mum make ball a success?

20 May 2024

One of our lovely children’s mums, Emily, has been very busy over the last few months organising a glittering event which will take place on 22 June to raise money for Keech. Her gorgeous daughter, Amelia, now 4 has been coming to Keech for Tots n Toys sessions since she was a tiny baby.

Emily is hoping to raise £10,000 for Keech and we’re so proud of and indebted to her for all her amazing efforts.

Here’s what Emily has to say: “When Amelia was diagnosed with rare genetic muscular disorder Nemaline Myopathy Type 2 at two weeks old, it felt like our whole world collapsed. We first visited Keech Hospice Care soon after and spent a wonderful day meeting other families just like ours. For the first time I didn’t feel like the odd one out. When we realised the extent of Amelia’s condition we thought ‘how are we going to cope?’ but Keech has helped show us we can. They provide incredible care for children and adults across our region, and the ball is my way of showing my appreciation and helping ensure other families benefit too.”

The black tie ball will be held at Crews Hill Golf Club in Enfield and will feature a three course meal, music, entertainment, and a charity raffle and auction. The star of the ball of course will be Amelia, along with older sister Penelope, 6.

Tickets have already sold out, but Emily is still looking for raffle and auction prizes to help her reach her fundraising target.

If you would like to donate raffle or auction prizes, please contact us at letmehelp@keech.org.uk. It is respectfully asked that prizes have a minimum value of £100 or are the type of prizes that money can’t buy.

Emily, Amelia, and everyone at Keech Hospice Care is so grateful for the community for showing their incredible support to this special event.
