Three Peaks Challenge

About the challenge:

Want to see the sights whilst raising money for your local hospice? Take on one of the epic Three Peaks Challenges in aid of Keech Hospice Care. Most challenges are available from 1 May, but please visit the Three Peaks website for all available dates.

Choose from one of four challenges:

National Three Peaks Challenge:

The National Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales in just 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles with a total ascent of 3,064 metres (10,052ft), which is twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks – talk about a challenge! The three mountains are Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis.

Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge:

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a 24-mile round trip route including 1,585 metres (5,200ft) of ascent. The three peaks, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough form part of the stunning Pennine range and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, making it a beautiful scenic trek.

Surrey Three Peaks Challenge:

The Surrey Three Peaks Challenge is a 23-mile round trip including 1,060 metres of ascent – a third less climbing that the Yorkshire Three Peaks. The challenge includes three classic hills, Box Hill, Holmbury Hill and Leith Hill.

Welsh Three Peaks Challenge:

The Welsh Three Peaks Challenge may be lesser known than the other challenges, but still comprises of some fantastic walking along a beautiful route. The 17-mile round trip includes an ascent of 2,334 metres (7,657ft), making it more ascent than the Yorkshire Three Peaks over a shorter walking distance. The challenge is to be completed within 24-hours.
